Couples who struggle with addiction in their relationship
7273947325
I entered the human services field in 1986. Since then, I’ve had experience as a counselor, coach, trainer, and educator. I specialize in helping people who’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, and trauma, build healthy relationships, overcome addictive behaviors and create positive change.
I use a blend of positive psychology, emotional intelligence, and high-performance hypnotherapy to help people effectively and efficiently build healthy relationships, overcome addictive behaviors and create positive change. Using multimodal methodologies, from art therapy to psychodrama to mindfulness to clinical hypnosis to storytelling to play therapy, I help people find the missing pieces and, therefore, find their missing peace, so they can live a life of passion, empowerment, purpose and prosperity.
My experience, training, knowledge, and unique blend of approaches make my methodologies effective, efficient, and fun. Yes, I bring fun into therapy, but most importantly I understand and respect the sacred space that psychotherapy has on the healing and growth of every individual I work with.
My professional credentials include:
• Master Certified Relationship Coach
• Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor
• Florida Board-Certified Addiction Counselor
• National Board-Certified Fellow in Clinical Hypnotherapy
• Florida Board Qualified Supervisor for Mental Health Counselor Interns
My formal education and training include:
• Master of Arts, Counselor Education, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL
• Bachelor of Arts, Human Resources, Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, FL
• Associate of Arts/Science - Human Services, St. Petersburg College, FL
• Graduate, The Relationship Coaching Institute
• Graduate, The Institute for Life Coach Training
• Ph.D., Clinical Sexuality, International Institute for Clinical Sexology (currently)
I’m also currently a member of the following organizations:
• American Mental Health Counselors Association
• Florida Mental Health Counselors Association
• Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association
(Currently Serving on Board)
• National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors
Between 2001 and 2005 I created and led a series of workshops. My goal was to provide my clients, their families, and my community with education about core issues and questions that bring people to therapy. The students unexpectedly, but pleasantly, responded by asking for more topics. What started off as a six-week workshop series turned into a yearlong program that eventually led me to write and self-publish the book and workbook Marry YourSelf First! Say “I DO” to a Life of Passion, Power, Purpose and Prosperity.
In 2006, I was honored to be named a Tampa Bay Health Care Hero by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
