Dr. Carol L. Clark – Director and Board of Advisors President

Dr. Carol Clark graduated from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) in 1990 with a Master's degree in Counseling. She moved to Miami and, after attaining her license, became a Certified Addictions Professional through the Florida Certification Board.  She then attended the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists and the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, thereby earning a doctoral degree and the right to the title of Sex Therapist. She is a Board Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), the American Board of Sexology (ABS), and the Therapist Certification Association (TCA). She taught Human Sexuality, Group Counseling, and Substance Abuse Counseling for 18 years at Carlos Albizu University in Miami and opened her own institutes of Addictions Therapy, Sex Therapy, and Transgender Care before launching the International Institute of Clinical Sexology. She is the author of Addict America: The Lost Connection, a valuable resource for both clinicians and the general public, as it explores the overall addictive manner in which we live our lives and how that disconnects us from ourselves, our relationships, and our spiritual lives.

Dr. Marilyn K. Volker - Board of Advisors

Dr. Marilyn K. Volker, Sexologist for the past thirty-two (32) years is a Diplomat of the American Board of Sexology and an Associate Fellow of The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. She sits on the faculty of four South Florida universities— University of Miami, Florida International University, St. Thomas University, Barry University—as well as is Associate Professor at The Institute For Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, San Francisco, California, where she received her doctorate in 1991. Dr. Volker trains counselors to become sex therapists through the Florida Post-Graduate Sex Therapy Training Institute and The Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Sexology for Sex Therapists. She has served as sexuality consultant for a variety of addiction treatment facilities state and nationwide and has written articles addressing sexuality issues in recovery. Dr. Volker teaches in the sexuality programs for two medical schools— University of Miami and Ross University and is a doctoral committee member for Union Institute.

Dr. Tracy Rodriquez-Miller - Board of Advisors

Dr. Tracy A. Rodriguez-Miller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida, as well as Georgia, a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist, Diplomate of the American Board of Sexology, Certified Addiction Professional, Certified Hypnotherapist and a Florida Board approved Qualified Clinical Supervisor. She has over 17 years of experience in the behavioral health field promoting personal strengths and insight with the use of empowerment to assist clients in addressing challenging issues and making positive life choices and changes. Dr. Rodriguez-Miller maintains a private practice specializing in trauma, sex therapy and addictions with a focus on male survivors of childhood sexual trauma. She also is an Adjunct Professor at Miami Dade College and provides clinical supervision for Social Worker Interns seeking licensure. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work and Bachelor’s in Psychology from Florida International University. She then attended the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists (AACS) where she earned a Doctorate in Clinical Sexology.

Dr. Maylin Batista – Board of Advisors

Dr. Maylin Batista, LMHC, is a Certified Hypnotherapy Trainer and Florida qualified approved supervisor. She has been a Neuro Linquistic Programming (NLP) Trainer and Practitioner since 2007 from the National Federation of NLP. Dr. Batista is trained in Reiki and other holistic modalities, which makes her sessions and consultations an invaluable source of healing. Her lectures and workshops on Self Hypnosis, Hypnosis and Addictions, Hypnosis and Sexuality, NLP, and past life regressions are wonderful tools for personal transformation. Dr. Batista was born in Cuba and currently lives in the United States. Her passion is coaching, teaching, and healing, which she combines in her private practice, Intent Therapy LLC, in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Janis Roszler – Board of Advisors

Dr. Janis Roszler is a board-certified sex therapist, licensed marriage and family therapist, certified clinical supervisor, licensed dietitian/nutritionist, and the 2008-2009 diabetes educator of the year (AADE). She received her master's degree in marriage and family therapy from UMass Boston. Her books include Intimacy & Diabetes, Sex and Diabetes, Approaches to Behavior, Diabetes on Your OWN Terms and The Secrets of Living and Loving with Diabetes.
