Dr. An is an ITCA Board Certified Transgender Care Professional and serves on ITCA's Advisory Board. He is a Clinical Sexologist specializing in Sex Trafficking, Transgender Activist & Healthcare Consultant, and an RN since 1978. He started his consulting firm years ago and, in 2020, transitioned into offering consulting services assisting companies to meet compliance standards for LGBTQIiA+ services and offering consultations for companies to meet Best Practices in Sex Trafficking. He is experienced in educational curriculum & program development and approaches training by combining a style that addresses as many of the learning needs of individuals. He has experience in pediatric and teen grief program development.
Dr. An is a speaker and educator with a background in policy and procedural development for NFP and FP organizations. He has experience in conducting mock surveys to ensure healthcare organizations attain compliance. In previous years, he has achieved accreditation for both medicare and State accreditation standards. He has met standards of care for both the Joint Commission and Community Health Assessment Program in meeting compliance for healthcare organizations.
He served as an administrator, adjunct, educational consultant, and liaison for hospice in Chicago and the Chicagoland area. He currently teaches an adult hormone class at ITCA and a workshop in sex trafficking prevention through TCA.
Dr. An provides consulting services and has assisted in developing a training manual for field staff at the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center’s Open Doors Outreach Network, referred to as Open Doors that services victims and survivors.
He serves in multiple capacities ranging from start-ups to administrator, board, and advisory chair at hospice programs, board member, and radio host at WJCT, an affiliate of NPR and PBS. He has participated as a panelist for Queers in the Spotlight at the University of North Florida’s LGBTQIA+ students. Guest speaker for Diversity Training in Trans Culture and Language via Teleconference in Grande Prairie Alberta, Canada, Center for Allied Health Nursing Education, and conducted training in Phoenix, AZ, Richmond, VA, and Chicago, IL.
He has served as a filmmaker and conducted over 60 interviews for an upcoming documentary designed for parents with transgender and gender-diverse children, adolescents, and young adults. He has served as a photojournalist since 2010 and produced short films addressing LGBTQIA+ issues.
